It's my grate joy to inform you that Visafone numbers will now work on the MTN network as MTN has completed full integration for optimum service and wider coverage. Therefore Visafone subscribers are expected to migrate to the MTN network with the Visafone purchaser migration. This article will show you how to migrate your Visafone line to MTN and the requirements needed to enjoy MTN GSM services on your Visafone line.
1.   Visafone is now owned by MTN. 
2.   Your Visafone number will not change, it will be retained on the MTN community. 
3.   Your tarrif plan and statistics package will remain as it were on Visafone. 
4.   To migrate is free and you will be given a new free sim card. 
5.   Your line go live on the MTN network nationwide within 24 hours after activation.

Who is Eligible for MTN XtraByte?

The primary target market for XtraByte is all active MTN’s prepaid subscribers.

To check if you are eligible for this MTN XtraByte service, dial the USSD code on MTN sim, *606# and then choose 1.

In addition, customers are required to meet the following criteria to be eligible:

- SIM must be registered
- Customer’s number must have been active on the network for at least 3 months.
- Customer’s main account balance must be between N0 and N12.

Additionally, you have to make a recharge and usage of at least N500 within a month to be able to use any of the XtraTime or XtraByte services.

Eligible customers also have advantage of borrow data even if he or she have an existing airtime debt that are not yet pay back and as long as customers are still within their credit limit. Customer can pay back amount of the data borrowed will be deducted once subscriber recharge or receive airtime via Share N Sell or any other means.

Meaning that, to payback XtraByte data borrowed customer must recharge his or her account and the amount of data borrowed is first deducted from the recharge amount and the balance, if any, will then be loaded in his/her main account.

For example if a subscriber owing N220 XtraByte and recharge N500 credit card the N220 owed is first deducted from the recharge, then N280 will be loaded into the subscriber's main account. In cases where the recharge amount is less than the outstanding XtraByte data amount, next recharges will be used to recover whatever is outstanding until the debt is fully recovered.

MTN Discontinues Free Night Calls | Xtra Cool 2017

Top of the day to you MTNDATA Readers, The saying that whatever has a beginning must surely have an end might have just been applied to MTN subscribers, as MTN has finally suspended all free night calls. Now, MTN will charge you at normal rate during Happy hour (12:30AM to 6:00AM) regardless of the amount of airtime you are having at that time. 
The hours of unending chit chat with friends and family at free hours of the day has been brought to an end by MTN.  Recently MTN stopped the TrueTalk + tariff plan and now again they have stopped the free Midnight call. The so called MTN XTRA COOL that have being saving lives, most especially the students.

I’m sure guys that has being using this free mid-night call will testify how it has helped them in so many ways and also save them from little cash, not only that, it alos helped them to get in touch with their lovers and pals that are far from them.  According to MTN Update recently, they said 

“Please cascade to the associates that MTN happy hour call (Free mid-night call) which started October 2006 has been discontinued effect tonight, as directed by NCC. Hence, all happy hours calls will be billed from tonight. Thank you!.” 

Like seriously, it’s a sad news indeed because I’m a victim of MTN free mid night call Xtracool which before now users can make free mid night calls from 12:30am to 4:30am with a minimum of N100 in their balance. Though there is MTN Beta Talk tariff plan, for those that don’t really understand this tariff plan should kindly read my post concerning that and how to opt in for the tariff plan. 

If I may ask, what do you think you will miss from this suspension or do you no longer make free night call? But whether you like it or not, the memories of MTN Xtracool free night call will surely live in the mind of many Nigerian youths your long.

How to use the MTN Mobile WiFi Device
Getting Started
1. Insert your SIM Card via the SIM card slot entrance at the back of your MiFi device.
2. Connect the MiFi to a PC with the compatible data cable inside the pack
3. Power on the MiFi by pressing and holding the power button until the light comes on.
4. The modem is “plug and play” and will auto install upon powering it on. However if the auto install does not work, simply double click the setup icon in the MiFi folder from your computer and wait for the software to install.
The MTN Mobile WiFi can be used in USB mode (connected to your PC) or WiFi mode (connecting up to 5 WiFi enabled devices).

Using the MTN Mobile WiFi in USB mode
1. Once installation is completed successfully, launch the MTN Mobile WiFi from the icon on your desktop to open the MTN Mobile WiFi user interface.  (If you’re having problems loading the page, check your browser proxy settings; be sure to select “Automatically detect settings”)
2. Once the user interface is launched, type the Login Password: default password is admin (you are advised to change this password for security reasons).
3. Recharge and activate any Data plan from the Subscription page on the Interface. You can also send the appropriate keyword by SMS, to activate a Data plan.
4. Once you receive the sms confirmation for your data plan, you can launch a browser and connect to the Internet.

Using the MTN Mobile WiFi in Wireless (Wi-Fi) mode
After you have successfully activated a data bundle using the MTN Mobile WiFi user interface, you can connect up to 5 WiFi capable devices simultaneously to the internet.
1. Ensure your MiFi device is powered on (press and hold the power button until the light comes on).
2. Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or device and search for available wireless networks, then select & connect to the MTN Mobile WiFi E5830S (Password/key is printed behind the device).
Note that you can modify the display device name (SSID) from the admin interface.
After you establish a Wi-Fi connection successfully, you can start browsing the internet.
