How to Install Samsung Virtual Assistant Bixby on Any Samsung Devices

Its no longer news that Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ was launched last week along side Samsung very own assistant called Bixby.

Samsung's Bixby is the new kid on the block of personal digital assistants and is likely to face a rough reception in a neighborhood dominated by tech sector rivals. Bixby is an AI system that's designed to make device interaction easier, specifically designed to avoid the complexity of increasingly fully-featured devices. Exclusively made available to Samsung Galaxy S8 devices, but is designed to work across a range of Samsung products.

Bixby works like Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, Google's Assistant and Microsoft's Cortana.
Bixby understand your natural language, all you need to do is give complete information and Bixby will interpret it and take action.

Since it’s made available to only Galaxy S8 &S8+, an XDA member has been able to make it work on older Samsung devices that run Android Nougat.

Here is how;

• First of all make sure your Samsung device is running Android Nougat
• Download and install Samsung Galaxy S8 launcher here
• Download and install Bixby apk here
• or download alternatively here
• Go to S8 launcher setting by long pressing on home screen
• Activate Bixby

Reboot your device and swipe left from your home screen to harness the full functionality of Bixby.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Reviews Show Apple Has Work To Do

More than ever, Apple has its work cut out for it with next two iterations of the iPhone. That’s the message some Galaxy Note 7 reviews are sending.

A quick canvassing of reviews this week yielded more than a few unflattering hardware comparisons with the iPhone 6/6s/6s Plus. Of course, Apple could quickly rectify this with iPhone 7 due to be revealed in the coming weeks. But some of the critiques highlight a growing hardware gap that could extend beyond the iPhone 7.

AMOLED beckons: Let’s start with the Wall Street Journal. After stating that the Galaxy Note 7, S7 Edge, and S7 have “stunning” 2560 x 1440-pixel screens, the review says that Samsung’s “AMOLED screens…absolutely blow any iPhone display out of the water.” That assessment jibes with display expert DisplayMate Technologies’ warning that Apple needs to get on the AMOLED bandwagon. In addition to image-quality advantages over LCDs (used on the iPhone), AMOLED technology allows Samsung to build the curved displays on the S7 Edge and Note 7. Not to mention building future devices like the rumored foldable phone.

For now, there’s plenty of praise in the Journal’s review (and other reviews) about the curved display. Something (I’m guessing) Apple won’t address until next year. The Journal said that the curved edges of the Note 7 “makes the wide bezel surrounding the 5.5-inch screen on the iPhone 6s Plus look like a paper picture frame from Six Flags.”

Bigger can be much better if it’s done right: Both the iPhone 6s and Nexus 6P came under fire for being ergonomically challenged in a review from The Verge. Arguing that the Galaxy Note 7 “is the best big phone ever made,” the review goes on to say that “it feels like a device that was designed to be a big phone from the beginning…I can’t say the same for the iPhone 6S Plus, Nexus 6P, or any other giant phone on the market, which are downright clunky in comparison.”

Other reviews were not kind either. Business Insider brings up the ”extra bulk” of the iPhone 6 Plus, citing problems handling the Apple phone, then adds: “I had none of those problems with the Note 7.”

Software is separate: Apple still has an ecosystem/software/app advantage with iOS, which is probably more important to more consumers than a curved display or AMOLED image-quality advantages. But that will only last as long as Apple is perceived by the average consumer as keeping pace with Samsung hardware. If Apple sticks with flat LCD displays on its phones for the foreseeable future, perception could change. Especially if Samsung is showing off foldable phones and offering more Galaxy phones with curved screens.

The good news is that Apple still has plenty of opportunity to work its magic and bring out a stunning 10th anniversary iPhone. And of course the iPhone 7 could surprise too.

If it’s possible the Note 7 feels better in hand than both the Note 5 and the S7 Edge as they’ve improved ergonomics and construction the glass. On the bottom we have the SPen, speaker usb type c connector and headphone jack, the right hand side the power button, the left has seperate volume buttons and the top the Nano SIM and SD card slot. When looking at the specifications we have some similarities to Samsung’s most recent handsets with the S7 series. The Note 7 has the same 12MP camera, so if you’re familiar with the S7 & S7 edge camera you’ll know that what we have here is arguably the best camera on the market. We have the same Octa Core Exynos 64 bit Processor, 4GB RAM, qHD Display and finger print sensor.

Looking at the front of the handset you’ll see a new sensor on the left hand side in addition to the same old 5MP front facing camera, this, it’s an IRIS scanner. We’ve seen this tech before on other handsets, but it does feel very futuristic to just place you face in front of the phone to unlocked. It took us a while to figure out what was going on because it’s so fast, let’s see it again just to make sure you caught it. Samsung is also giving Knox security a feature with a new security folder which can have a separate password than the phone login. The rest of the UI is very familiar, TouchWiz hasn’t really changed at all, you’re still going to get all the very smart and subtle software details that we had in the last generation. And it’s still the lightest version of touchwiz to date running on the latest version of Android. Always on Display now allows you to pin notes and you can still take notes. The Edge UX is one of our favorite quick navigation methods around and has received an update with the ability to use 3rd party apps.

The main differentiating feature of the Note series is the Pen, the tip is only 0.7mm thick with 4096 pressure sensitivity levels so if you’re it almost feels like you’re really mixing your own water colors. In addition to being waterproof the SPen has also gotten a few new improvements, you can hover translate, magnify and my personal favorite is create gifs from videos in just a few clicks, here is a goal from the euro cup that we can now watch over and over. Samsung Notes is a new app which combines Action memo, Memo, scrapbook and Snote all into one app. Nothing has changed, it’s all just in one interface that’s meant to feel like a real notebook.

If you love your stylus, the Note 7 is a perfect phone for you, it’s not ground breaking with innovation, it’s refining what was already a great smartphone.
